When do we use Apap?

Pain of various etiologies: headaches, muscle pain, toothache, neuralgia, menstrual pain.

Fever, e.g. from a cold or flu.


What is the composition of Apap?

One film-coated tablet contains:

Paracetamolum  (paracetamol) 500.0 mg


What are the contraindications to the use of Apap?

Use of MAO inhibitors and the period of up to 2 weeks after their discontinuation. Congenital deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase and methemoglobin reductase. Should not be used in children under 12 years of age.


Apap – what side effects may occur?

Hepatobiliary disorders: acute liver damage usually resulting from overdose;

Gastrointestinal disorders: nausea, vomiting, digestive disorders;

Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: urticaria, erythema, rash, purpura pigmentosa; Immune system disorders: drug hypersensitivity reactions, anaphylactic shock;

Blood and lymphatic system disorders: agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia.


Apap - drug dosage

Adults:  1-2 tablets. 3-4 times a day (maximum 8 tablets a day).

Children over 12 years of age:  1 tablet 3 to 4 times daily.

There should be an interval of at least 4 hours between subsequent doses.


Apap – what precautions should you take?

This medicine contains paracetamol. Due to the risk of overdose, check whether other medications you are taking do not contain paracetamol. The use of the preparation by people with liver failure, alcohol abuse and starvation poses a risk of liver damage. Use with caution in people with liver and kidney failure and bronchial asthma. You must not drink alcohol while taking the preparation.


Taking Apap during pregnancy

Animal studies have not shown any risk to the fetus, however, the results of controlled studies in pregnant women are unknown.

Paracetamol passes into breast milk at 0.1% to 1.85% of the mother's dose. Like other medicines, paracetamol can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding if clearly necessary.
