Aromatol - description and indications

Externally: to improve malaise, e.g. in colds, (for rubbing, inhalation or gargle), in headaches, muscle aches; after insect bites. Internally: in digestive complaints (dyspeptic disorders), e.g. flatulence, indigestion.

Indications: - rheumatic pains - insomnia - neuralgia - colds - gastrointestinal complaints - circulatory disorders - headaches - migraines - neuralgia.

Action

An ethanol mixture of levomenthol and essential oils: lemon oil from common lemon(Citrus limon), cinnamon oil from Ceylon cinnamon bark(Cinnamomum zeylanicum), field mint oil(Mentha arvensis), lavender oil from lavender(Lavandula officinalis), citronella oil from citronella palm(Cymbopogon nardus) and clove oil from clove tree(Caryophylus aromaticus). Menthol exhibits choleretic and spasmolytic effects. The effectiveness of the product is based solely on a long period of medicinal use and experience.

Action: - relieving pain - relaxing.

Composition - what ingredients are contained in the drug Aromatol

100 g of Aromatol solution contains: 1.72 g of levomenthol; 0.57 g of lemon oil(Limonis aetheroleum); 0.24 g of Ceylon cinnamon bark oil(Cinnamomi zeylanici corticis aetheroleum); 0.24 g of field mint oil (with reduced menthol content)(Menthae arvensis aetheroleum partim mentholi privum); 0.24 g of lavender oil (Lavandulae aetheroleum); 0.1 g ofcitronella oil (Citronellae aetheroleum); 0.1 g of clove oil (Caryophylli floris aetheroleum).

Dosage - how to use the drug Aromatol

Aromatol product is intended for adults and adolescents over 12 years. 1 g of solution corresponds to a volume of about 1.1 ml or 27 drops of the product. Oral administration. In digestive complaints (dyspeptic disorders), e.g. indigestion, flatulence: 1-3x/day take 10-15 drops of the product mixed with water. Skin application. Rub 1-3x/day with the product until the skin surface becomes dry. To reduce discomfort after insect bites, wipe the bite site with a cotton ball soaked in the product. For gargles. Dilute about 5 ml (1 teaspoon) of the product in about 250 ml (a glass) of warm water, gargle the throat and mouth 1-3x/day. Use in the form of inhalation (for colds). Dilute about 5 ml (1 teaspoon) of the product in about 250 ml (glass) of hot water and inhale the resulting vapor for several minutes. Repeat inhalations up to 3x/day.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients. Bronchial asthma and other respiratory conditions accompanied by severe hypersensitivity of the respiratory tract. Use in children under 12 years of age, due to ethanol content and incomplete safety and efficacy data. Internal use: biliary obstruction (e.g., in the course of cholelithiasis), cholecystitis, severe liver damage, alcohol dependence. External use: skin damage, e.g., in burns, eczema and open wounds, skin diseases that proceed with a rash, use on mucous membranes and around the eyes.

This is a drug. For safety, use it according to the package insert. Do not exceed the maximum dose of the drug. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Special warnings / Precautions

The product contains ethanol and its frequent external use may cause skin irritation and dryness. Protect eyes from contact with the product. If the solution gets into the eyes, rinse them abundantly with water and seek medical attention. In case of hypersensitivity symptoms: difficulty breathing (such as bronchospasm), call a doctor immediately, and in case of skin lesions, seek medical advice. After rubbing the product or its solution, wash your hands thoroughly. Aromatol product should not be used under a dressing that obstructs the air or under a warm compress. 1 ml of the product contains about 0.57 g of ethanol, 10 drops contain ethanol equivalent to about 2.2 ml of wine with 12% (V/V) alcohol or about 5.3 ml of beer with 5% (V/V) alcohol, which should be taken into account when using in children and people with liver diseases or epilepsy. Do not use the product in people with alcoholic disease. Use of the product may impair the ability to drive and operate machinery.

Interactions

Alcohol contained in the product may affect the effect of other simultaneously used medicinal products.

Pregnancy and lactation

Due to the lack of a full evaluation of the safety of use and the ethanol content, use in pregnant and lactating women is not recommended.

Side effects

The components of essential oils can be allergens or cause photosensitization and cause irritation of the skin and mucous membranes. Therefore, sometimes in sensitive people, contact with essential oils can cause skin sensitization reactions and sometimes respiratory disorders (e.g. coughing, bronchospasm).

Overdose

No cases of product overdose have been reported.
