Indications:

For topical use in:

  • bacterial infections of the mouth and gums,
  • thrush,
  • fungal infections of the mouth and throat after treatment with antibiotics.

Action

Chloroquinaldol is a chloroquinoline 8-hydroxyquinoline with antibacterial, antifungal and antiprotozoal activity. Among others, the following microorganisms are sensitive to chloroquinaldol: Streptococcus pyogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Proteus vulgaris, Escherichia coli, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Pseudomonas pyogenes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Chlamydia trachomatis, Candida albicans.

Action: - antibacterial - antifungal - antiprotozoal.

Composition: 1 tablet of Chlorchinaldin flavored black cur rant for sucking contains 2 mg of chloroquinaldol (Chlorąuinaldolum).

Excipient: One tablet contains 364 mg of sucrose.

Dosage - how to use the drug Chlorchinaldin with black currant flavor.

Suck 1 tablet every 1-2 h. Do not use a dose of more than 20 mg of chloroquinaldol (i.e. 10 tablets of Chlorchinaldin flavored black currant for sucking)/day.

Notes

Do not chew the tabl. Do not use during a meal.

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.

Special warnings / Precautions

Since in bacterial infections it is often necessary to use an appropriate systemic antibiotic, and the blackcurrant-flavored preparation is used only as an auxiliary, so if the patient's complaints persist or worsen, despite the use of the preparation for several days, other treatment should be used. Do not use Chlorchinaldin flavored black currant for a long period of time and in doses higher than recommended. The preparation contains sucrose. Patients with rare hereditary disorders related to fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or saccharase-isomaltase deficiency should not take the drug product. The product may have harmful effects on teeth. The black currant-flavored preparation does not affect the ability to drive and operate moving machinery.

Interactions

Metal and iodine compounds weaken the effect of chloroquinaldol.

Pregnancy and lactation

Animal studies on the effects on pregnancy, embryonic and fetal development, the course of labor and postnatal development are insufficient. The potential risk to humans is not known. Black currant flavored medicinal product should not be used during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary. Due to the lack of adequate studies, the medicinal product flavored with black currant should not be used during breastfeeding.

Side effects

General disorders and conditions at the site of administration: (unknown) mucosal irritation, pruritus, allergic symptoms. Immune system disorders: (unknown) allergic symptoms (rash or urticaria) in hypersensitive individuals.

Overdose

To date, no case of overdose has been reported. Due to the dosage of the product and negligible absorption, the likelihood of overt clinical overdose is minimal. However, findings indicate that quinoline chlorides, especially when used in high doses and for long periods of time, can cause subacute spinal-visual neuropathy, characterized by sensory disturbances, muscle weakness, pain and visual disturbances. Symptoms are often preceded by persistent diarrhea and abdominal pain, and the characteristic symptom is a green coloration of the urine and tongue. Management of overdose includes inducing vomiting and gastric lavage, as well as symptomatic treatment.
