Heviran Comfort should only be used for cold sores located on the lips and face. The medicinal product should not be applied to mucous membranes, e.g. of the mouth or eyes. The medicinal product Heviran Comfort cream is not intended for the treatment of genital herpes. The medicinal product should be used very carefully to avoid contact with the eyes. Patients who experience particularly severe recurrent cold sores should seek medical attention. People infected with herpes should be warned against spreading the virus,especially when active skin lesions occur. Heviran Comfort is not recommended for use by people with weakened immunity. Immunocompromised people should consult a doctor for treatment of any infection. The medicinal product contains 400 mg of propylene glycol in each gram of cream. Propylene glycol may cause skin irritation. Do not use this medicinal product in children under 4 weeks of age on open wounds or large areas of injured or broken skin (e.g. burns) without consulting your doctor or pharmacist. The medicinal product contains cetostearyl alcohol, which may cause a local skin reaction (e.g. contact dermatitis). The medicinal product contains 7.5 mg of sodium lauryl sulfate in each gram of cream. Sodium lauryl sulfate may cause local skin irritation (such as stinging or burning) or may worsen a skin reaction caused by other medicines applied to the same area of ​​skin. An important factor in hypersensitivity to sodium lauryl sulfate is the thickness of the skin, which varies significantly depending on the place on the body and the age of the patient. Hypersensitivity to sodium lauryl sulfate also varies depending on the pharmaceutical form (and the effects of other excipients), sodium lauryl sulfate concentration, duration of skin contact and patient population (children, skin hydration level, skin color and existing skin disorders). Patients with a weakened skin barrier, e.g. atopic dermatitis, are more sensitive to the irritating properties of sodium lauryl sulfate.
