Name: Apap Extra
Form: film-coated tablets.
Dose: 0.5g+0.065g
Package: 24 tablets (2 blisters of 12).
Composition:

1 film-coated tablet contains: active substances
Active substances: paracetamol 500 mg, caffeine 65 mg;

excipients: povidone, purified water, corn starch, methylcellulose, talc, calcium stearate;
The tablet shell consists of: methylhydroxypropyl cellulose (5), methylhydroxypropyl cellulose (15), polyethylene glycol.

Indications - When do we use the drug Apap Extra?

Pain of various etiologies: headache, including migraine, muscular, dental, neuralgia, menstrual, osteoarticular, postoperative and post-traumatic pain. Relief of cold and flu symptoms, such as fever, sore throat, muscle and osteoarticular pain.

What is the composition of the drug Apap Extra?

One film-coated tablet contains 500.0 mg of paracetamol(Paracetamolum) and 65.0 mg ofcaffeine (Coffeinum).

What are the contraindications to the use of Apap Extra drug?

- Hypersensitivity to active substances or any of the excipients listed in section 6.1.

- Congenital deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase and methemoglobin reductase.

- Alcoholic disease. Severe hepatic or renal insufficiency.

- Cardiac arrhythmias.

- Use of MAO inhibitors and up to 2 weeks after discontinuing them.

- Do not use in women in the first trimester of pregnancy and during lactation. - Do not use in children under 12 years of age.

Apap Extra - what side effects may occur?

The incidence of adverse reactions was determined as follows:

Paracetamol:

Blood and lymphatic system disorders:

Very rare: thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis;

immune system disorders:

rare: cutaneous allergic reactions, i.e. hives, rash;

Nervous system disorders: very rarely: dizziness;

gastrointestinal disorders:

rare: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain;

kidney and urinary tract disorders:

Very rare: renal papillary necrosis during prolonged use; renal colic.

Caffeine:

when a caffeine product is administered in the recommended doses in combination with caffeine contained in food, it is possible that the adverse effects associated with an increase in the total caffeine dose may be exacerbated, such as: cardiac disturbances:

frequency unknown: heart rate irregularity;

nervous system disorders:

frequency unknown: insomnia, attention deficit disorder, muscle tremors, irritability, dizziness.

Apap Extra - dosage of the drug

Dosage

Adults and children over 12 years of age:

1 or 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours (maximum 8 tablets per day).

Do not use in children under 12 years of age. Method of administration Orally.

Apap Extra - what precautions should be taken?

The use of the medicinal product by people with liver failure, alcohol abuse and starvation poses a risk of liver damage. Use with caution in people with renal insufficiency, bronchial asthma, overactive thyroid gland, sleep disorders in the form of insomnia. Do not drink alcohol while taking the product due to the increased risk of liver damage. There is a particular risk of liver damage in people who are starving and regularly drink alcohol.

Taking Apap Extra during pregnancy

Pregnancy

Do not use the drug during the first trimester of pregnancy. In the second and third trimester, the drug can be used only if, in the opinion of the doctor, the benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus. During pregnancy, a slowdown in caffeine metabolism and higher serum concentrations are observed with no increase in the drug dose.

Breastfeeding

Caffeine passes into breast milk.

Do not use during breastfeeding.
