Apipulmol - description and indications

Inflammatory conditions of the upper respiratory tract, cough.

Action

Apipulmol is a syrup intended for adults. It has an expectorant effect and loosens secretions lingering in the bronchial tree. It reduces the viscosity of mucus and facilitates its movement in the bronchi by activating the activity of the cilia of the tonsillar epithelium. Pine herb enhances the expectorant effect of the syrup.

Composition - what ingredients the drug Apipulmol contains.

100g of Apipulmol syrup contains 2 g of sulfogwajacol and 90 mg of ammonium chloride

Excipients: pine herb (contains sucrose), ethanol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate.

Dosage - how to use the drug Apipulmol

Adults: 3 or 4 times a day 10 ml (1 tablespoon), with a small amount of warm liquid.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to sulfoguaiacol, ammonium chloride, bee products or any of the excipients.

The medicinal product should not be used in children.

Warnings and precautions

Patients who have observed alarming symptoms (such as laxative effect) after use should discontinue the drug and consult a doctor or pharmacist.

Apipulmol syrup contains pine herb honey. Patients with rare hereditary disorders associated with fructose intolerance should not take the medicinal product. The medicinal product should not be used in people who are allergic to bee products.

Due to the content of methyl parahydroxybenzoate, the medicinal product may cause allergic reactions (possible late type reactions).

Side effects

No severe adverse reactions have been observed. Isolated cases of laxative effects have been reported.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Well-controlled clinical studies have not been performed in pregnant and lactating women, so the drug product should not be used during this period.
