Cyclodynon Description.

Formulated to relieve premenstrual symptoms (known as premenstrual syndrome) in women.

Composition - what ingredients the drug Cyclodynon contains.

1 film-coated tablet contains 40 mg of dry ethanolic extract of agnus castus fruit: Agni casti fructus extractum siccum (6-12:1), which corresponds to 20 mg of the primary extract. The remaining 20 mg of the dry ethanolic extract is the carrier, which is colloidal silicon dioxide. The solvent used for extraction is 60% ethanol.

Dosage - that is, how to use the drug Cyclodynon

Adults: take 1 tablet/day, drinking a small amount of water. Duration of treatment: should last at least 3 months.

Notes

The drug should be taken every day at the same time, regardless of meals.

Action

Receptor affinity studies of agnus castus fruit extract indicate that the extract components bind to _D2-dopamine receptors. In in vitro studies, the extract significantly inhibits the binding of H-spiroperidol to _D2-dopamine receptors in the striatum of calves. Previous studies indicate that components with dopaminergic effects are found in the lipophilic fraction of agnus castus fruit extract. It is not possible to say conclusively what constitutes the active substance. The extract as a whole shows more activity than individual substances. In addition, studies of the extract indicate that it has dopaminoagonist activity.

Indications

Cyclodynon® is intended for the relief of premenstrual symptoms (the so-called premenstrualsyndrome ).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to agnus castus fruit or any of the auxiliary ingredients of the preparation. The preparation should not be used in people with severe renal and hepatic insufficiency, due to the lack of clinical data in this group.

Side effects of the drug Cyclodynon

So far, no serious undesirable effects resulting from the use of the preparation have been observed. Occasionally, rash and pruritus of the skin may occur. In a few cases, an exacerbation of symptoms of premenstrual syndrome was observed, during the initial period of treatment.

Notes and warnings regarding the drug Cyclodynon

This is a medication. For your safety, use it according to the package insert. Do not exceed the maximum dose of the drug. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Special warnings / Precautions

Not known. There are no reports on the effect of using preparations containing agnus castus fruit extract on the ability to drive and operate moving machinery.

Interactions

Interactions are not known. Animal studies suggest a dopaminergic effect of the drug. Therefore, the possibility of attenuation of the effect of the preparation during simultaneous administration with dopamine receptor antagonists should be taken into account.

Pregnancy and lactation

It is not recommended to use the preparation during pregnancy. The preparation can be used during lactation, only under medical supervision.

Side effects

So far, no serious undesirable effects resulting from the use of the preparation have been observed. Occasionally, rash and itching of the skin may occur. In a few cases, an exacerbation of symptoms of premenstrual syndrome was observed, during the initial period of treatment.

Overdose

There are no known cases of overdose.
