Flavamed 15 mg/5 ml syrup 100 ml

NAME OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT: Flavamed, 15 mg/5 ml, syrup.

QUANTITATIVEAND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION: 1 ml of syrup contains 3 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride. 5 ml of syrup (1 measuring spoon) contains 15 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride. Excipients of known effect 5 ml of syrup (1 measuring spoon) contains 1.75 g of sorbitol and 5.75 mg of benzoic acid.

PHARMACEUTICAL FORM: Syrup. Clear, colorless to light brown solution with a raspberry scent.

Flavamed syrup - INDICATIONS FOR USE.

Mucolytic treatment in acute and chronic bronchial and pulmonary diseases with disorders of mucus production and transport. Flavamed is indicated in children over 1 year of age, adolescents and adults.

Flavamed syrup - Dosage

This drug should always be used exactly as described in the leaflet for patients, or as prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

The recommended dose is:
Children aged 1 to 2 years:
½ measuring spoon, i.e. 2.5 ml of syrup 2 times a day (equivalent to 15 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride per day).

Children aged 2 to 5 years:
½ measuring spoon, i.e. 2.5 ml of syrup 3 times a day (equivalent to 22.5 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride per day).

Children aged 6 to 12 years:
1 measuring spoon, i.e. 5 ml of syrup 2 to 3 times a day (equivalent to 30 to 45 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride per day).

Children 12 years and older and adults:
2 measuring spoons, i.e. 5 ml of syrup 2 to 3 times a day (equivalent to 60 to 90 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride per day) for the first 2 to 3 days of treatment, followed by 2 measuring spoons, i.e. 5 ml of syrup 2 times a day (equivalent to 60 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride per day).

Caution:
In adults, if necessary, the dose can be increased to 60 mg twice daily (equivalent to 120 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride per day).

Directions for use
Flavamed syrup should be taken orally, after a meal using the enclosed measuring spoon.Do not take Flavamed immediately before bedtime.

Duration of use
Without consulting a doctor, the drug Flavamed should not be used for more than 4 - 5 days.If after 4 - 5 days the complaints do not decrease or worsen, you should immediately see a doctor!If you feel that the effect of the drug Flavamed is too strong or too weak, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Use of a larger than recommended dose of Flavamed drug.
No symptoms of severe intoxication have been observed. Transient restlessness and diarrhea may occur.In case of a severe overdose, increased salivation, nausea, vomiting and a drop in blood pressure with circulatory disturbances may occur.A doctor should be contacted. Usually, immediate management such as inducing vomiting and gastric lavage is not necessary; such management may be considered in cases of significant overdose. Treatment is recommended depending on the overdose symptoms present.

Omission of use of the drug Flavamed
If you miss a dose of the drug or use too small a dose of the drug, take the next prescribed dose of the drug at the usual time. Do not use a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients listed in section 6.1 of the Summary of Product Characteristics.
