Description
Composition and form: 1 g of solution contains 1 mg of octenidine dihydrochloride (Octenidini dihydrochloridum) and 20 mg of phenoxyethanol (Phenoxyethanolum). Skin spray, solution. Clear to slightly opalescent, almost colorless solution with a pH of 5.5-6.5.
Indications: Repeated, short-term antiseptic treatment of mucous membranes and adjacent tissues before diagnostic procedures in the genital organs and anus, including the vagina, vulva and glans penis, as well as before catheterization of the urinary bladder. When applying the medicinal product using a mechanical sprayer, do not inhale the sprayed solution. Do not allow Help4Skin SEPTI-SPRAY to enter the bloodstream, e.g. by accidental injection. Help4Skin SEPTI-SPRAY should be used with caution in newborns, especially premature babies. Before proceeding with further stages of intervention, remove any solution-soaked
materials, covers or aprons.Excessive amounts should not be used and the solution should not be allowed to accumulate in the folds of the skin or under the patient or to drip onto pads or other materials that come into direct contact with the patient. Before applying an occlusive dressing to areas that have previously been treated with Help4Skin SEPTI-SPRAY, make sure that no excess medicinal product remains. Avoid accidental contact of Help4Skin SEPTI-SPRAY with the eyes. Due to the fact that the medicinal product is an aqueous solution, no other side effects are expected when applied occlusively to wounds. The use of aqueous octenidine solution (0.1%, with or without phenoxyethanol) for skin disinfection before invasive procedures was associated with severe skin reactions in premature infants with low birth weight. Contact of the medicinal product with anionic surfactants, e.g. detergents and cleaning agents, should be avoided as they may reduce the effectiveness of the active substance octenidine hydrochloride.
