Ibuprofen should be used with caution in patients with impaired liver or kidney function and with gastric and/or duodenal ulcers. Patients with asthma who have not previously taken acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are recommended to consult a doctor before using Metafen gel Forte. Topical ibuprofen may potentially cause gastrointestinal side effects. Although the risk of such side effects is much lower than after taking ibuprofen orally, patients with gastrointestinal problems should consult a doctor before using Metafen gel Forte.Eyes and mucous membranes should be protected from contact with the medicinal product. If skin lesions occur at the site of use, the product should be discontinued. When massaging into the skin for a long time, it is recommended to wear protective gloves. The medicinal product should not be used more often than every 4 hours and not more than 3 times a day. After applying the gel, wash your hands, unless the treatment concerns your hands. If, after 2 weeks of using the medicinal product, the symptoms do not subside or worsen, you should seek medical advice. The concentration of ibuprofen achieved in the systemic circulation after topical application of the gel is lower than after oral administration. However, since oral ibuprofen may worsen existing renal failure, patients with a history of renal disease should seek medical advice before using Metafen gel Forte. Excessive exposure to sunlight of the treated area should be avoided due to the possibility of a phototoxic reaction.
