Nurofen for children Forte strawberry should always be used as directed. Please read the leaflet before using the medicine. If in doubt, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
It is not recommended for use in children under 3 months of age or weighing less than 5 kg.
The usual dose for pain or fever is:
Child's body weight (age) over 5 kg (3 to 5 months) / How much? 1.25 ml / How often in 24 hours?* 3 times
Child's body weight (age) over 7 to 9 kg (6 to 11 months) / How much? 1.25 ml / How often in 24 hours?* 3 to 4 times
Child's body weight (age) over 10 to 15 kg (1 to 3 years) / How much? 2.5 ml / How often in 24 hours?* 3 times
Child's body weight (age) over 16 to 19 kg (4 to 5 years) / How much? 3.75 ml / How often in 24 hours?* 3 times
Child's body weight (age) over 20 to 29 kg (6 to 9 years) / How much? 5 ml / How often in 24 hours?* 3 times
Child's body weight (age) over 30 to 40 kg (10 to 12 years) / How much? 7.5 ml (using the syringe twice: 5 ml + 2.5 ml) / How often in 24 hours?* 3 times
*Doses should be administered approximately every 6 to 8 hours.
Seek medical advice if symptoms worsen or persist:
- within 24 hours in infants aged 3 - 5 months
- within 3 days in children aged 6 months to 12 years.
