Paracetamol Filofarm - Indications for use

Paracetamol Filofarm is indicated for use in adults and children over 12 years of age.

Pain of various etiologies: headache, muscle, toothache, joint pain, neuralgia, menstrual pain.

Fever, such as in the course of a cold or flu.

What does the drug Paracetamol Filofarm contain?

The active substance of the drug is paracetamol. 1 tablet contains 500 mg of paracetamol.

Excipients: starch, polyvinylpyrrolidone, stearic acid.

How to use the drug Paracetamol Filofarm?

This drug should always be used exactly as described in the leaflet for patients or as prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Recommended dose.

Adults: the usual oral dosage is 1 or 2 tablets (equivalent to 500 mg to 1000 mg of paracetamol), if necessary, up to 3 or 4 times a day (a maximum of 8 tablets in a day , equivalent to 4000 mg of paracetamol). Observe at least a 4-hour interval between doses.The drug should be taken after a meal. The tablet should be swallowed with a drink of water.The maximum duration of use of the drug without the advice of a doctor - 3 days.

Children over 12 years of age: Usually take 1 tablet orally (equivalent to 500 mg of paracetamol), if necessary up to 3 or 4 times a day (a maximum of 4 tablets per day, equivalent to 2000 mg of paracetamol).

Observe at least a 4-hour interval between doses. The tablet should be swallowed by drinking water. The maximum duration of use of the drug without medical advice - 3 days. Patients with renal or hepatic impairment The use of Paracetamol Filofarm in patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency is contraindicated.In patients with hepatic impairment or Gilbert syndrome, the dose of the drug should be reduced or the interval between doses should be extended. The effective daily dose should not exceed 60 mg/kg per day (the maximum daily dose is 2 g). Particular caution should be exercised, as the drug may have a toxic effect on the liver.If you feel that the effect of Paracetamol Filofarm is too strong or too weak, consult a doctor.

Use of the drug in children and adolescents

The drug is not intended for use in children under 12 years of age and therefore should not be used in this age group.

When should you not use Paracetamol Filofarm?

• If the patient is allergic (hypersensitive) to paracetamol or any of the other components of this drug. Because
• of the risk of overdose, check whether other medications you are taking contain paracetamol;
• if you have severe hepatic or renal insufficiency;
• if you have congenital glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency or hemolytic anemia;
• if you have congenital methemoglobin reductase deficiency;
• if you use monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors (such as. selegiline, a drug used to treat depression and hypotension), and for up to 2 weeks after discontinuing them.
