The product should not be used in patients taking oral antidiabetic drugs from the sulfonylurea group, due to the risk of increased hypoglycemic effect, and in patients taking anti-gout drugs. The product should be used with caution in patients with impaired renal function and chronic renal failure. In patients with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and/or systemic lupus erythematosus and liver failure, the product should be used with caution because the toxicity of salicylates increases, and liver function should be monitored in these patients. Taking the medicine at the lowest effective dose for the shortest period necessary to relieve symptoms reduces the risk of side effects (see gastrointestinal and circulatory effects, below).Acetylsalicylic acid should be discontinued 5 to 7 days before planned surgery due to the risk of prolonged bleeding time both during and after surgery. Caution should be exercised when administering methotrexate at doses less than 15 mg per week due to the increased toxic effects of methotrexate on the bone marrow. Concomitant use with methotrexate at doses greater than 15 mg per week is contraindicated. Use with caution in the case of: uterine hemorrhage, excessive menstrual bleeding, use of an intrauterine contraceptive device, hypertension and heart failure. During treatment with acetylsalicylic acid, alcohol should not be consumed due to the increased risk of damage to the gastrointestinal mucosa. In elderly patients, the product should be used in lower doses and at longer intervals due to the increased risk of side effects in this group of patients. The medicinal product contains 356 mg sodium per tablet, equivalent to 17.8% of the WHO recommended maximum daily intake of 2 g sodium for adults. This should be taken into account in patients with reduced renal function and in patients on a controlled sodium diet. There is evidence that drugs that inhibit cyclooxygenase (an enzyme involved in the synthesis of prostaglandins) may cause fertility disorders in women by affecting ovulation. This effect is transient and disappears after completion of treatment. If the immediate packaging is damaged, as a result of external factors (air access and moisture), the vitamin C contained in the tablet is gradually oxidized, which leads to a change in the color of the tablet from white to brown. A tablet with a changed color must not be used.
