Sora med is a medical device indicated for combating head lice in the case of human lice (Pediculus humanus) colonizing the scalp and hair.
The dimethicone (silicone oil) contained in the product coats the lice and their eggs/nits with an occlusive layer, preventing gas exchange. This leads to the blocking of the process of breathing and excretion of water by lice and their larvae, as well as to disruption of the growth and maturation of the nits, as a result of which they die and the life cycle of the parasite is interrupted.
Additionally, the layer created on the surface of the hair prevents nits from attaching and makes them easier to comb.
