Description
The SutriSept medical device in Gel is a hydrogel intended for the protection, care and moisturization of acute and chronic wounds and first- and second-degree burns in combination with medical devices such as bandages, dressings, gauze and wound fillers. Thanks to the unique combination of ingredients, the gel creates a thin protective layer at the site of its application, thus supporting the wound healing process by preventing the growth of microorganisms and keeping the area clean and one . In addition, a thin protective layer creates a barrier between the wound surface and the dressing, minimizing the adhesion of the dressing to the wound surface and the settlement and development of microorganisms on the dressing surface. This increases the effectiveness of the dressing. Taking into account the fact that the preparation contributes to wound healing, it can be applied to the wound bed for a longer period of time. During this time, the protective layer formed on the wound surface ensures continuous hydration and protection of the wound against infection. The preparation has passed all biocompatibility tests and has also been dermatologically tested. The test results showed that the preparation does not irritate, is well tolerated and does not cause hypersensitivity. The ingredients of the preparation are well tolerated by the mucous membranes. No inhibition of granulation and epithelialization was observed. The gel is a preparation for immediate use. It was observed that it did not slow down granulation or epithelialization.

Application: Infected and non-infected acute wounds (e.g. traumatic wounds resulting from cuts, tears, abrasions, crushing, bites, stings, etc. or surgical wounds), infected and non-infected chronic wounds (e.g. diabetic ulcers, venous ulcers, bedsores (caused by pressure) etc.), infected and non-infected wounds resulting from the action of temperature or chemical substances (e.g. 1st and 2nd degree burns, chemical burns, etc.), wounds caused by electric current, radiation wounds, places of insertion of urological catheters, skin care around stoma, care of fistulas and abscesses, care, moisturizing and covering the wound surface with a protective layer before applying materials such as bandages, dressings, gauze and wound fillers, creating a layer between the wound and the dressing that prevents the dressing from drying out and sticking to the wound.

Storage and use
How to use: Externally, on the skin. Before applying the dressing, the entire wound and its surrounding area should be thoroughly cleansed to reduce the risk of transfer of contaminants and microorganisms to the wound surface. The wound bed should be covered with a large amount of the preparation. The cleaned wound should then be properly bandaged. The preparation can remain on the wound surface until the next dressing change. In this way, it keeps the wound surface constantly moisturized and thus minimizes the adhesion of the dressing to it. The application should be repeated regularly during the wound healing period, including: to remove dead tissue and scabs.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. The preparation is not suitable for use on hyaline cartilage and in aseptic surgical procedures on joints, in the middle and inner ear and in the eye. Do not use: in the central nervous system and meninges; together with anionic surfactants, soaps, creams, oils, enzymes, etc. (these substances must be completely removed from the wound surface). Do not use for infusion or injection; do not swallow.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Do not use the preparation in the first four months of pregnancy. Depending on the result of the benefit-risk analysis, use later in pregnancy should be agreed with your doctor. There is no evidence of mutagenicity or embryotoxic effects caused by the components of this preparation. Polyhexanide is not absorbed systemically, the probability of its passage into breast milk is almost zero. Due to the lack of clinical trials and experience in using the product in pregnant and breastfeeding women, the gel should be used with caution and only under medical supervision. Due to the lack of sufficient clinical information, the gel should be used in newborns and infants only under close and direct medical supervision.

Side effects: The preparation contains polyhexanide. Although there are no reports of side effects related to the preparation, there are reports that the polyhexanide contained in its composition may, in rare cases, cause an allergic reaction. The preparation should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to this substance. In very rare cases, after applying the preparation, a slight burning sensation may occur, but this sensation disappears after a few minutes. The preparation may cause allergic reactions such as itching (urticaria) and rash (eczema).
